Ludvig Holmen is an architecturally trained artist and academic. He is currently teaching at the Architectural Association, freelancing and running a Youtube channel called Ludvig in Legendary Lands. He is interested in the intersection between Technology and Art, specifically with Fantasy, World-building and Artificial Intelligence.

AA Diploma, 4th year project:What if a group of Cryptocurrency enthusiasts inhabited a Bitcoin mine? The servers will regularly be upgraded according to the demand for bitcoin mining, altering the environmental conditions inside the server farm. This will bring back radical seasonal shifts that is lost in the modern condition that leads to political stasis.
ARCHITECTURE for LARP
Britain’s largest Live-action Roleplay festival, Empire, are about to get a permanent site. They will be building architecture that brings the fantastical world into reality. Ludvig is volunteering by designing what the community might build.
KINGDOMS of ETHER
A cyberpunk project envisioning world of “Techno Feudalism” as described by Yanis Varoufakis. It is an Open-source franchise were all the assets are shared between creators and are free to use. It is funded by NFTs which allows the owners to vote on new projects.
HEROES of NEW
From a Solo Exhibition at Bl_ank Oslo. 10 Large large prints in steel frames. I selected 10 characters from Kingdoms of Ether and designed entire outfits and posed them inspired by Renaissance painters such as Artemesia Gentillesci.
ARBOREAL LIBRARY
A mythological short film summarizing history of the worlds oldest nation. The project contemplates the role of historical narratives for different ideologies.
CYBER SATYRS
A portrait of internet culture that emphasizes how the hormones in our bodies shapes the algorithms.
GOLEM FACTORY
The project tells the story of a Warlock who breathes life into clay golems, as an allegory for Ludvig Holmen’s own journey as he learns out to sculpt human figures in VR and later animate them.
